Born Angela Trimble, Deborah Harry is best known as the lead vocalist of Blondie. Before becoming famous she worked in New York as a waitress, go-go dancer and Playboy Bunny. Blondie was formed in 1974 and released four albums between 1976 and 1979. The name Blondie came from what men would catcall to Deborah after she bleached her hair blonde. Their chart-topping hits include "Heart of Glass," "The Tide is High" and "Rapture," which is recognized as the first number one rap song in the U.S. Blondie began a hiatus in the 80s, and Deborah released several solo albums as well as focusing on her acting career, which included a major role in the film "Hairspray" in 1988. Blondie then reunited in the late 90s and released it's 11th album in 2017, which charted at #4 in the U.K. Besides her music, Harry is famous for being a fashion and punk icon. She developed a friendship with Andy Warhol, and he featured her image in a series of portraits and prints.
