Pat Benatar
Pat Benatar was interested in theater and performing from a very young age, and was inspired to pursue a singing career after attending a Liza Minella concert. She started as a singing waitress but was quickly recognized by audiences and fellow musicians for her incredible talent. A performance during a Halloween contest in 1977 in which Pat dressed as a cat woman inspired her sexy, spandexed look on stage. She released her debut album in 1979 entitled "In the Heat of the Night," which went platinum the next year. 1980 saw the release of her second album, "Crimes of Passion," which included her best-known song, "Hit Me With Your Best Shot." Throughout her career, Pat Benatar has won 4 Grammy Awards, had 2 multi-platinum albums and five platinum albums, and 15 top 40 singles. Her empowering anthem, "Love is a Battlefield" and her ode to love, "We Belong" are tied as her highest-charting single. Pat released new music as recently as 2017, and continues to tour to the present day.own text and edit me.
