Joan Jett
Best known as the frontwoman of "Joan Jett & the Blackhearts," Joan Jett has been described as the "Queen of Rock and Roll." She was also a founding member of the band "The Runaways," who had the hit song "Cherry Bomb" in 1976. They opened for such well-known bands as "Cheap Trick," The "Ramones," "Van Halen" and "Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers." The band released five albums from 1975-1979, the year they disbanded. Jett then formed "Joan Jett & the Blackhearts," who have had 3 albums that were certified platinum or gold, as well as many hit songs. Joan founded "Blackheart Records" together with fellow musician Kenny Laguna in 1980, and the label produced its latest album in 2019. In 2015, "Joan Jett and the Blackhearts" was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jett's hit song "I Love Rock and Roll" was named the number 56 song of all time by Billboard and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2016.
